    I’ve heard different versions of this as well. “You’re not THAT black,” my response? How black do I have to be? I think this is similar to the Korean woman who have people ask what she is because they want to put her in a box. So blackness means you listen to rap, you speak black english, etc and when you listen to classical music and read books you don’t meet the expectation of blackness and therefore don’t fit in the box.
