Molly, so does your skin provide you privileges?
My white skin is culturally unfair.
I too often am unaware of the advantages conferred on me just by being white. I take it for granted. It is the norm. Then sometimes, it hits me, like when I’m walking around an affluent neighborhood, and I suddenly realize, This is not a problem for me partly because I’m white. If I had dark skin, would I be getting some suspicious looks, or even just some second looks?
