    In most societies going way back there were always people on the bottom and people on the top. Before there were slaves, there were indentured servants, before them, there was a class war (which I think is still going on). But you had the Protestant whites with the money versus the poor whites in this country.

    when salvery ended and the wealth from the division of  labor was denied. Really, with 40 arces and a mule, many more former slave families could have continued building wealth for themselves and their descendants.
