Empty people wrapped in white skin.

I have no idea who my ancestors were or where they came from…all I know is that I’m white, and I live in America. As a white American, I feel like the only cultural heritage I have is a collection of atrocities. I am surrounded by this enormous array of diverse, amazing cultures and I belong to none of them. I can look, but I can’t touch. It makes me feel empty.
