Humbled. Meant well. Feared as Karen.

Carol,
San Mateo, CA

I was walking by a school when I noticed a delivery driver who appeared to be either ill or exhausted. When I approached to ask if he was ok, he looked at me with fear. In that moment, I realized this Black gentleman might be seeing me, a 60 something White woman, as a Karen rather than someone offering support. I asked if he was ok and he nodded yes. I left feeling sad that I may have caused him pain.
