I’m afraid for my black child

Juli,
Brooklyn, NY.

There are places in this country that I would never live because of the racism in certain areas. Eventually my daughter might want to live or go to college outside of NYC and it scares me. We see more often because of cellphone video and dashcams that police see it fit to terrorize black people because the laws state that they don’t need a “probable cause” in certain states to stop and arrest someone. The last video I watched where they broke the car window and tasered a man in front of his child brought me to tears. What hope can the youth have when you are an eyewitness to your family being treated in that manner?
