Inequality caused by fear and ignorance.

Maureen P. Shindle,
Mount Bethel, PA

I was married to a Black man who had to sit in the back of the bus and stick his hand through a hoke in the wall to buy a soda among many other insulting and degrading situations. His stories and those I have read about make me cry. I am ashamed of the death, destruction, disrespect and unChristian treatment by white Americans inflected upon people of color and those considered different. It breaks my heart and causes me great pain and distress. I pray that we are turning a corner, albeit very slowly.
