May I please touch your hair?

Vy Nguyen,

I have never seen blond hair in person until I immigrated to the USA. My husband took me to his friend’s birthday party and I saw a little girl with silvery blond hair for the first time. I asked her if I could touch it. She was shy at first, but her father encouraged her and she agreed. She even laughed at my curiosity and my shock at how fine and light her hair was. Then she wanted to touch mine and I let her. I felt very happy that we were able to share our differences. We are different but equal.
