“No eres gringa, no actúes así.”

All my life I’ve grown up around my Hispanic family. It’s unusual for me to ever say something in English in front of them out of respect because they don’t really understand the language. The few times that I accidentally say something in English I get the old “no eres gringa, no actúes asi” even after living all my life in the United States.
