I think that all lives matter

In fourth grade, I learned about racism and the problems we face today but then I still felt like I didn’t understand. To me a person was a person. Some people looked different but they were still people. However, I didn’t think that the problems were that bad. I ended up using some stereotypes myself. Since this year, however, I have learned more and became more enlightened on the subject. Before this year, I thought all the cop shootings involved African-Americans. However through research, I learned that that was not true and that people of every race get shot as well equally as much if not more because only “U.S. police officers have shot and killed the exact same number of unarmed white people as they have unarmed black people: 50 each. But because the white population is approximately five times larger than the black population, that means unarmed black Americans were five times as likely as unarmed white Americans to be shot and killed by a police officer” according to the Washington Post. no doubt that it is terrible but I think we should not be standing up for just one race but all races. Because we need need it more than ever now with all people in the world who are racists. We need to fight back against racism because we are not all so different. I believe that no one race is better than another and all people should be treated equally.

Race is not real

Race is not a real thing it was created by people to gain power over others. In the 1500s slavery was used by the British to get power over Africans, which and took them from their homelands to America and England. They also enslaved Native Americans when Columbus arrived in South America. He enslaved thousands of natives and shipped them back to England. Just because they were different from the typical Whites, the British thought it was justified to enslave them. Since then racism has existed. Today racism comes in a new form, stereotypes. However, almost all stereotypes are incorrect and are seriously insulting. The reason race is not real is because it is all just about where we were born and we should not be judged by where. It is scientifically incorrect. I found this evidence in the video the story of race, this video explains the history of race. racism is counterproductive and it shouldn’t be a problem. With all the problems in this world, racism shouldn’t be one. According to American Academy of Dermatology, “The reason different races have different colored skin is caused by melanin.” But people didn’t know that at the beginning of race so they made up stories to mask that the fact of the matter is we are all people and no matter how we look we will always be humans.

I’m not Mexican, I am me.

When I was younger, I always thought that race was real, I was surprised to find that it is not biologically real. Now that I know this I realized that some stereotypes I made about people are not true. I had always thought that if you looked one way then you were from a certain place but throughout this experience, I have learned not to make those stereotypes because they are not always true. Now I know I am not a certain race. I believe that no one is more important than one another because we are all one species: HUMAN. I just found out last year that I also have Native American in me, I thought that this was very interesting and surprising. I have seen many shootings on T.V. I am still shocked and questioning why people are doing this just because of how someone talks or looks. Sometimes I wonder if racism will ever stop or if it will just keep going on and on. I hope people will take a stand for these serious topics. I think that even in the election people are being racist to others. If people can just talk and not fight about these things I think racism will decrease. I hope that someday racism will end completely. If we keep raising awareness we will get people to talk about this and help!

Race is not real.

Race is not real. Race is only socially real. According to Vox, “There is no such thing as race because, there is not a race chromosome in our our body. It simply doesn’t exist”. We are all too alike to be a different race than one another. The reason we have different skin colors is because of where our ancestors came from. If your ancestors lived closer to the equator then they developed darker skin. Based on our environment we did certain things and looked certain ways and there is nothing wrong with that. Even though race is not real, ethnicity is real. So why are we still making these unfair judgements? It is just part of our nature to see different shapes and lines in things. That is why we sometimes see faces in trees or inanimate objects, so this comes into play when making judgements. The American Anthropological Association stated that “Differences among the “racial” categories were projected to their greatest extreme when the argument was posed that Africans, Indians, and Europeans were separate species, with Africans the least human and closer taxonomically to apes” they disagreed. Since race is not real, what will you do about this?

Black Is Just An Insecure Label

To me race is just a made up way to put people in groups, based on the way they look. When did that start to matter? Stereotypes, Racism, Segregation, Slaves, and Wars. Stereotypes are a big part of race and racism. The following are the most common stereotypes for Black people. Blacks` are know to not know how to swim. Blacks are from the ghetto. Blacks all have afros or not done hair. All Black Women are sassy, angry, and loud. Black dudes are super violent by nature. Black people need White people to save them.

It really hurts to think people don’t know the truth about who I really am. Stereotypes really hurt people, I have experience with it many times, I get very hurt thinking that’s what people think about me. Just look at the Doll test. I think that people never really learned the truth about race. In class we busted the myth of race. RACE IS FAKE.

Race is Nothing to Change our Nation

Race is not real. Race is the classification of humans into groups based on physical traits, ancestry, genetics and lifestyle. Well that’s what people used to think. United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) “All humans belong to the same species and that ‘race’ is not a biological reality but a myth.” When the European settlers/explorers came to america they saw people who didn’t look like the others. I bet you’re thinking well race came first. The settlers decided they were more superior which created racism and then race afterward. Think of it as if you were looking at an ants and you naturally squish the ants most people do. There is no way to tell a person’s “race”, not by skin color hair color or eye color. Race is not Real. Still don’t think so do some research, look it up. Many people would agree with me.

I am Black, Mexican, and White…

I used to think that I was not any other type of race than Mexican because I grew up around Mexican food and my nana used to speak Spanish a lot. Then one day my dad was talking about race and he told me I was Mexican, black, and white because of my mom. I am 25% white, 25% black because that is from my mom. From my dad I am 50% Mexican. I didn’t get bullied for my race. I also did not get any racist comments when I was growing up. Someone in my class thought that I was only Mexican, but I did not get offended by that because I am more Mexican than white and black. I used to hear on youtube and movies that white girls couldn’t dance and black people couldn’t do ballet. I also used to think that rap and hip hop was for black people only. I also used to think that country was for white people only until I heard a black person singing country music. My perspective changed after i heard a black person sing country (Darius Rucker) and a white person rap.

Race is Not Real

Race is not scientifically real, but socially real. Before 1960 black people weren’t allowed to sit in certain places of restaurants and were not allowed to use the same bathroom as white people. According to VOX a youtube channel race drives a lot of social and political outcomes. Race isn’t real. One of the first people who attempted to categorize race was a german scientist named Johann Friedrich Blumenbach around 1770 and 1776. He came up with Caucasian, Malaysian, Mongolian, Ethiopian, and American. In the 2000s the government decided Americans can be more than one race on the census. When the medical community uses race for health outcomes it is using race for a substitute for other factors.Such as where your ancestors came from or the same people who may have been put in the same group as you. There is no race chromosome in our DNA that people can point to because race does not exist. The reason why it matters is because there are a lot of wars going on because of race and that people think that it is real. In conclusion race is socially real and NOT scientifically real. You can’t look at someone’s DNA and say they are this type of race. This proves that race isn’t re
