I was at a dinner when a group ,mid 60s/early70s (age), of Caucasians were eating their sunday breakfast discussing an event. I specifically heard a section of the conversation, “I can’t stand moments like that. We are in America, speak English we are in America.” It still amazes me that things like that are still said because America is not only English, it is every language in the world united. But often times that is forgotten.

Still resonating to its powerful music!

The more I learn about the struggle then and now, the more I feel lost in this deep struggle, in the ambiguity of what it all means. My color, my everything, is lost in the white light. “My” race card is not something I pull out when I “need” it – this power is always in the hands of white supremacy. But mine is mine.
