I remember asking myself this question when I was a young teen going through my old toys and I couldn’t understand why I, a very much white individual from a white family, had so many black baby dolls. Years later, in my adulthood, my aunt told me the story which gave me the answer – I simply thought they were the most beautiful. I think of this to remind myself not only of my natural biases but the ones that I have learned from the “shoulds” in our society.

Will all black-African Americans ever be given any breaks? Foreigners get better treatment in America than Blacks. Jews are looked at because of the holocaust. Blacks were kidnaped and brought here, but we get no retribution for being treated as animals. Even today, I tried to purchase a condo on the street and they took my money and called me within 45 minutes to say that unit had been sold, but the same model on the back was available. They didn’t want any blacks facing the street. There is still no equality at work or at home.
