The first rule of white club is you don’t talk about white club. Whiteness isn’t acknowledged as a race. When we do acknowledge it, it’s often mischaracterized as “reverse racism.” White people have the privilege of being treated as individuals. For most of my life, my own whiteness was utterly invisible to me.
