White. Privileged. Sad. Ashamed. What now?

Until recently I’d have called myself liberal, aware, definitely an ally. Recent events have exposed for me my many blind spots, and the extent to which I’ve been … overly content with a status quo that’s so unacceptable for so many. I’m caught between shame and an urgent desire to do *something* that doesn’t make things worse, something that doesn’t just demonstrate the extent to which I speak from a place of privilege. And I don’t know what that is.
