I have severe generalized anxiety, mostly in social situations. Pair people’s ignorance to mental disabilities with the stereotype that women are too emotional/over react .. and you get a lot of people dismissing my anxious thoughts/feelings/side effects. Just because you cannot see someone physically struggling, does not make their feelings any less valid. Mental illness isn’t selective, it’s inclusive to people of all backgrounds. And chances are, there is someone in your close circle (or possibly yourself) who struggles with their mental health. So be kind, think before you speak, or be open to discussion.
