Black women that seek medical attention get overlooked and passed on. I had heard this many times but it wasn’t until I was in the hospital with severe abdominal pain that I experienced it. The doctor care in, turned the lights low and told me to take a nap because my anxiety was causing stress induced pain. I had this same experience 3 times and went to the hospital each time and was told it was anxiety. It wasn’t until I went to a hospital with majority black staffing that recognized that I needed emergency gallbladder surgery.
