Being multi-racial and raised in different cultures, I’ve been exposed to people from various countries and beliefs. My attraction and love for people goes beyond what they identify themselves as in gender, sexual orientation, physical appearances, racial or ethnic identities. I look for a connection I can make with someone through aspects of their life which connect with aspects of mine. I tend to find a connection with everyone I meet, which leads me to believe that if everyone would take the time to listen to others, they will find a connection with those they thought were quite different from themselves. We ALL were made in his own image. Which means we ALL POSSESS similar characteristics and qualities. While our values, morals, passions may differ – we are equal. This is what I reference as transcending – the ability to look beyond the physical, reserve any biases initial appearances may offer and find out what makes that person a human being.
