I was floored when a special education teacher called me a racist because I did not give her daily lesson plans I had developed on my own. The daily plans took hours to develop, and she never volunteered to help. Instead she made copies for herself, without my knowledge, to use in the future. If only she had asked, we could have had a productive discussion but instead when she was confronted, she called me a racist. Her reasoning that I was a racist was because a fellow teacher who was white got copies of my plans. However, this teacher contributed his self-made plans to me.
