Culturally white with an Asian face

Tara Conforto
Sharon, MA

I was adopted when I was less than 3 months old and raised in a non-diverse area of NJ. People have always made assumptions about me based on my Asian appearance, such as saying that I’m so respectful because Asian children are taught to respect their elders, asking me for Asian cooking tips, or questioning me on why Asians are afraid of dogs.
