Actually, yes….I DO see color…

It has ALWAYS annoyed me (since I can remember) when people say “I don’t see color” in an effort to demonstrate their acceptance/tolerance of those different from themselves…… but how offensive that actually is: “I refuse to acknowledge where you come from because our differences may cause tension so I just pretend we’re all exactly the same so as not to have any tense interactions or conversations about your experiences that make me uncomfortable……..”

Actually, yes, I DO see color! I see that you and I are different and I think it’s a beautiful testament to God’s creativity! I embrace everything that makes you special & unique and I would never deny you your heritage, your struggle, your story.
