Don’t understand racial pride. Do you?

It has always seemed a bit odd to hear people claim “white pride”, “black pride”, “brown pride”, etc. We don’t get to choose our skin color so what is it that we’re proud of? The same can be said of one’s birthplace or ethnic background, they are things we can’t change or control. Maybe we ought to ease off being prideful and instead, we can learn to appreciate the diversity of humanity.
