Best Audio Book Selection The Seattle Times

The intimacy and authenticity of these responses, anonymous and otherwise, translate well to audio through the aid of a seemingly countless array of narrators. The result achieves the seemingly impossible: a national Town Hall expertly moderated by Norris herself, on a topic nobody wants to talk about, in which everyone hears and is heard. An unforgettable and vital listening experience deserving of the widest possible audience.

MSNBC: As Trump is inaugurated, MLK Jr.’s question ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ rules the day

By Michele Norris, senior contributing editor for MSNBC It is a cruel irony that the nation will commemorate the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. on the day a man is sworn in as president who swears he'll roll back diversity efforts. That Donald Trump is also promising to dispense even more tax breaks to the wealthiest, has appointed the least diverse and most questionably qualified slate of Cabinet officials in recent memory and has unapologetically accepted the embrace of white nationalists who proclaim him as a hero makes the day feel like a surreal collision on the calendar

MSNBC: A Trump visit to California would be a pivot away from winning and toward leading

By Michele Norris, senior contributing editor for MSNBC Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger invited President-elect Donald Trump to travel to California to get a first-hand look at the destruction and devastation caused by the wildfires. Gov. Gavin Newsom has also issued an invite “in the spirit of an open hand, not a closed fist,” as he said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Trump’s team is engaged in conversations about his visiting Los Angeles to view the wildfire damage, two sources familiar with the discussions said. News that he's considering a visit is encouraging, but isn’t exactly a guarantee that he will. But he should accept that invitation and head to fire-ravaged California shortly after he takes office. Why?

MSNBC: Split ticket voters offer some bracing lessons for the Democratic Party

By Michele Norris, senior contributing editor for MSNBC I know I’m not the only person who has had my fill of rapid-fire forensics in the wake of last week’s election. The response from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., did catch my eye, though, because rather than just spout a hot take on Donald Trump’s victory, she used her Instagram platform to talk to voters themselves. What she heard offers some bracing lessons for the Democratic Party.
