Bad Mexican

My father came to the US from Mexico, legally, using the “Bracero” program. My grandmother was smuggled into the US as an infant at Columbus, NM. My mom was Native American/Hispanic.
I’ve not preserved my cultural roots & thus my gringo wife says that I’m a bad Mexican, meaning that I’ve lost touch with my roots.
