Black, not White, not Biracial!

Life long experiences in dealing with racial ignorance is taking its toll. Being light enough that whites assume you are one of them has allowed me to hear racist comments that would have not been spoken, had they known they were in the presence of a black woman. Then my struggle in response, is deciding if I should take the high road, as a Christian, or give in to my anger and give it back on their level. Then on the other side, dealing with my race always asking me, “What happened to you? You don’t look black. Why don’t you look like the rest of your family? You must think you are something.” What we do to each other under the umbrella of race and color is ridiculous. And I hear it from all sides! Black vs. White! Light vs. Dark!
