Does Race Really Matter or Not?

Julianna Waer,

I am a Mexican- American girl who grew up in a middle class home with access to a good education and a fairly financially stable home. I have had a few interactions with racial profiling, but not to the extent of what other people have gone through. In my experience, race matters to people, so therefore it is something that will have an effect on everyday lives. I’ve never been someone to care so deeply about one’s physical features or cultural background when it comes to my personal beliefs. I don’t judge someone based on their race. Having encountered people who do judge others on their race or physical characteristics is a culture shock.
