When people look at me, I clearly look Hispanic. So much so that many are surprised to hear that I speak perfect English, with no accent at all. Once I was told, “Wow, you speak so well!” I was born in Boston, educated in Boston, worked in broadcasting and took voice an articulation classes to beat my Boston Accent out of me… exactly what voice did you expect to come out of my mouth? Another downside to this, many times I get a lot of grief from other Hispanics, “You talk like a white girl!” Sigh… I just can’t win!
