“You don’t act like a Mexican”

I’ve been told many things because I come from a Mexican family. I have been told,” We can’t hang out anymore because my parents don’t like Mexicans.”, and “You can’t even speak spanish how are you mexican?”. In general I am treated okay, but things change in the heat of the moment. How can we be at peace when these stereotypical attitudes are still common?
