I feel that I have overcome a lot of adversity in my life. I was the poster child for the stereotype of little black girls. My father was not in my life. My mother passed away when i was 15. When I graduated high school,my family counted me out and said that I wasn’t going to be anything. I ran with a crowd that was not the best for me. I was sexually abused by a family member when I was younger. The first man that I though truly loved me who was my husband had an extra-marital affair that resulted in a baby. MY LIFE IS A MESS! BUT IN EVERY MESS, there is a message! When I feel that the world is spinning around me or something is too hard for me to bear, I think to myself”In spite of it all, I am here” .
