My maiden last name is middle eastern. I have been judged my entire life for not being white, and being from the middle east. It’s an american thing to be judged for not being white, as we all are too familiar with. It is unfortunate. So oftentimes I am ashamed of my maiden last name. I am no longer married, however, I plan to keep my new american last name so that I won’t be judged blindly anymore and so that I don’t get random searched at the airport anymore.
