I’m not the ghetto white girl.

Jeskah Stalls.

I grew up in a very small town where racism was very much alive. All my life I’ve been into hip hop and R&B. Because of this I had a very large circle of predominantly black friends. I was always called “the ghetto white girl” because these were my friends. I’m tired of the word ghetto being attributed to black people. I’m tired of being stared at when I’m the only white person in a group of black people because they think I don’t belong. I belong with my friends, period. I belong with the people who love me, period. I belong with the people who will lift me up when I am down, period. Stop calling me “the ghetto white girl”!
