I am a Black American and I prayed to have a boy child. Now that he is here and a grown man I realize I should have prayed for a girl. Since he was about 10 yrs old I have had to make sure he walks with ID and is mindful of the police as well as the hood criminals. How do we as black people survive in a culture where we are not respected by cops and shot down by the criminally minded in our own community? Today I wept. #HoodiesUp
