Stop othering LMI communities. I’m from one.

Sometimes, in our CSR work, we talk about supporting the LMI community as if it’s a separate realm, an alternate universe. I grew up in a LMI (low-to-moderate-income) community so I am sensitive to the narrative that is created about who LMI individuals are, what they need, and what they are capable of. We are all connected and a part of one community. We may have different experiences, but we must stop looking at society in us vs. them terms.
