When asking people from that time period how they weren’t outraged about the events that were happening right in front of them. They will usually say “That’s just how it was”. The same people that taught me to not follow what everyone else is doing, also saying they just did what everyone else did. The way it was back then was not easy for minorities in the slightest, so to be able to slide all that off with just these six words is truly angering. To pass off all of that history, by hiding behind the new age that had fixed a lot of the problems.
