I am white and was sitting with a few black friends, other black girls came and sat with us. Finally, someone I didn’t know looked at me from the other end of the table and asked why I was sitting with them. I was dumb-founded. I sat there everyday with my friends. This was the firs time I was confronted with the fact that our skin color was different. I had never given it any thought until then. I was 12 or 13, I’m now 50 and still have friends of every ethnicity!
