Why is being Black a crime?

Mary Crawford,

We will never have changed if every time we die at the hands of the police we can be reduced and negated by the word criminal.

I exist with the constant fear that my life can be extinguished not because I break the law but because I am Black. When I express my humanity with the phrase Black Lives Matter it receives a visceral response. “I dare you say Black lives what about Blue lives? All lives matter.”
No. We are the only people who can be hunted down, shot, beaten, killed under the weight of a knee and blamed for own demise.
