As a white male who has continually moved throughout his lifetime, consistently picking up, starting over, once again investing in new relationships, yet again opening my self up to strangers and willing to learn and grow in the process has helped prime me for where I am today in life. It has allowed me to learn how to genuinely accept others with open arms.
While my journey may have allowed me to have more experiences than most it will never teach me what it FEELS like to be subordinated, discriminated or hated by my appearance or the color of my skin. As an ally I am committed to continually educating myself, having a voice, learning from my mistakes and NEVER allowing my self to sit mute as I worry about the judgment of others.
