Nada.

“Nada” means morning dew in Arabic and is pronounced “Nedda”. Born and raised in Virginia by two middle eastern immigrants, my name was always mispronounced as NAAADA which means nothing in Spanish. I heard that all my life “Did you know your name means nothing in Spanish”…? It was always a reminder, that I’m different, even with no accent, even when I gained the confidence to correct people…my name was always mispronounced and I always got the question.
