You’re Mexican, but not really

Cecilia Torres,
Sparta, NC

I am a full Mexican, but I was not born in Mexico. I grew up in a Mexican household following my Mexican culture. People believe that just because I was not born in Mexico I do not experience racism and I don’t get stared at in certain places because of the color of my skin.
