I remember watching the movie Selena and in the movie Edward James Olmos who played her father Abraham Quintanilla said this: “We have to be more Mexican than the Mexicans and more American than the Americans, both at the same time! It’s exhausting!”  I have always felt it’s a struggle to be both.
