1961 White Gay Progressive Born Activist

Mark Cleveland,
Costa Mesa, CA

Growing up a gay child in the 1960’s I knew instinctively and immediately that my future was deeply connected to the Civil Rights movement. Our beloved LGBTQIA community worked hard to earn the respect of our black leaders & mentors and after years of struggle we were accepted and included. And that deeply enriched our PRIDE. I’ve lived with a sense of struggle and connection my entire life.
