Living In Rural America, Seeking Inclusion

Emma,
IA

I am a white woman that just moved to a town in Iowa from Denver. I have really enjoyed the transition to a slower paced life, but I do miss the diversity of the city of Denver. I am aware that, sadly, I might not enjoy living in a more rural environment if I were of a minority group. I am looking to improve this lack of inclusivity and acceptance in my new community, and I hope I can support these efforts. I hope one day rural environments will be more equitable and inclusive and diversity in our community would only improve our quality of life.
