What are you? White, Indian or Mexican?

My biological father was Mexican and split before I was born. The man I call my dad is white. My mother is Native American (Indian), but doesn’t know any of her culture, as my grandmother moved off of the reservation when she was 18. I was raised to look past race, which was useful to me, as I don’t know what my identity really is in that regard. I don’t speak Spanish (I pick up bits and pieces, but find myself lacking time to learn), I know nothing of my tribe that isn’t on Wikipedia, and my favorite pastimes are video games, swimming and rock ‘n roll music. However, I’ve had to deal with both my mother and grandmother speak of ill of Mexicans, particularly my mother, who claims not to like them, yet enjoys spending time with my wife (also Mexican, also raised mostly American) and my kids, who, as you may guess, are technically Mexican. I’ll try my best to help guide them, even though I myself am sometimes confused. Thanks for this outlet. I thought I was the only one.
