I know how it feels to be judged only on the color of your skin. In 8th grade during the LA riots I went to school just like any other day. When I got there I was confronted by a large group of students who began yelling at me. This quickly escalated to having books and backpacks being thrown at me. I spent the day running from class to class and even had to hide in the bathroom at lunch. Why? Because I am white. These other students didn’t know anything about me. They only copied what they saw on television. We need to set a good example and be the change that we want to see.
