I’ve got nowhere to call home.

Displaced. Not from here nor there. Mexican, El Salvadorian, Guatemalan, but born in the USA. Never fully from anywhere. Race a lot of times comes with place. Where you grow up shapes what you think about yourself and others. As you venture out, you learn more, you see more – but you also get farther away from all that you know and lose parts of yourself and the connections to those who are “like you.” I’ve got no geographic PLACE to call home. And in every space, I am different RACE.
