I’m an American Born Chinese and am in my early 20’s, while riding the train, this was said to me by a Hispanic gentleman. He said it to me in broken English, which took me aback. I questioned his audacity for saying this to me & proceeded to go into a diatribe about how I was an American citizen, questioned his citizenship & lectured him on the fact that only Native Americans were the only people that could say something like that with conviction. To this day, I wonder what made him say those words to me.
