All throughout my school years. A lot of people especially the teachers couldn’t pronounce my name correctly. As a young foreign immigrant girl, I felt like I should accept and adapt and that’s how you fit in. As I’m looking back, I don’t want any young child to feel the way I did. It’s very different now, I correct people each time when they say my name wrong. Because it matters to me, it’s my identity.
