Race affects everyone in different ways

My brother lived in NYC in the 80’s working diligently on writing music for black female artists (Think: Phyllis Hyman), and was told by an A&R representative: “You are a white man, trying to make in a black man’s music industry”…it’s never going to happen. It broke my heart, for my incredibly talented brother.
