I witnessed two 11 or 12 year old boys, one white, one black, hurling racial epithets at each other in the park this week. Then their Moms got involved and things got physical. All of the police officers who responded to the scene were white and male. I have always held great hope that race relations will improve with each generation, so seeing kids exhibit such hateful behavior made me heartsick. Four white policemen responding to the scene was an added failure.
