WHITE AND PROUD — DOESN’T MEAN RACIST

Jenna,
USA.

Every culture or race seems to have this deep inter connection with their skin color and culture and heritage. People seem to embrace their ‘uniqueness’ and take pride of where they are from and who they are. I am white. I am proud to be white. But why do those words sound so negative? If a person of color were to say those words everyone would understand their pride and support it, but because I’m white my pride is automatically discredited into racism or hate towards people of color. I’m white and proud — but that doesn’t mean I am racist.
