I am white. I never experienced or witnessed prejudice until I went out to eat with my black friends. On several occasions, we were seated in undesirable locations within a restaurant and ignored. I thought it was just BAD customer service, until pointed out by my friends who said it was a common thing for them. It was an eye opener to say the least and I was more aware after that. I was so angry! This was in the 80’s, but I understand it still happens!
